Gold Mine, Barrick Pueblo Viejo

Barrick Pueblo Viejo is the fourth largest gold mining mine in the world and the largest in Latin America. This mine is located 100 km from Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic.

As part of its process of maintaining and increasing production, Barrick began a process of expansion of its processing plants.

Arendal was the successful bidder for the execution of the civil, mechanical, piping, electrical and instrumentation construction of the oxygen production, casting thickener and flotation areas.

The oxygen plant comprises two production lines which include: cold boxes, compressors, exchangers and cooling towers.

Tailings Thickener, includes the construction of a 55 m diameter conical tank with the assembly of all plant balance equipment.

Flotation, includes the works for the construction of 14 tanks (flotation cells) of 4 meters in diameter and 14 meters in height, including the pipes, pipe rack and other plant balance equipment for their correct operation.
